Labor supports the continuation of the current ban on live sheep exports to the Middle East during the Northern Hemisphere summer.

To ensure the highest standards of animal welfare are maintained, governments and industry must remain vigilant and be guided by the best available science.

The draft report into the current ban on live sheep exports to the Middle East during the Northern Hemisphere summer has recommended that the ban continue. Labor hopes that the Morrison Government listens to the evidence and continues the ban on live sheep exports to the Middle East during the Northern Hemisphere summer.

Labor has also called on the Morrison Government to do everything it can to ensure compliance with animal welfare standards.
