Since last year, Labor has been calling on the Morrison Government to secure five or six vaccine deals – to ensure there were multiple vaccine options on the table. Scott Morrison dismissed these concerns and we’re now seeing the costs of that dismissal. Frontline healthcare workers, vulnerable older Australians and too many others are yet to be vaccinated.

We have received similar feedback from many, many people across the country. As I am sure many are aware, at this stage we have seen no indication that the Government will allow people in certain situation to receive a different vaccine. Labor will continue to follow the advice of the TGA and the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) when it comes COVID-19 vaccines.

We want to see as many people vaccinated as possible. If people do have any questions about the vaccines, they should talk to their doctor.

Labor will continue to monitor this situation.

I would also urge people to write to the Health Minister Greg Hunt with this enquiry at https://www.greghunt.com.au/contact/contact-greg/
