NEW YOUTH FACILTIES FOR MEDOWIE TOWN CENTRE

Today, Meryl Swanson, Federal Member for Paterson, announced that a re-elected Labor Government will provide $750,000 to Port Stephens Council for additional youth facilities at Medowie, to include a skate park.

The site, pending final designs and decisions by Port Stephens Council, is anticipated to be within the proposed extension of Medowie Town Centre, as identified in the Medowie Place Plan.

More than 1200 signatures were collected by residents in support of this initiative. They identified that the current skate park in Ferodale Road no longer meets the community’s needs.

This new facility will complement the new Medowie High School being delivered by our state MP Kate Washington and the NSW Government, as well as plans for Medowie Town Centre by Port Stephens Council.

“There are many new families moving into Medowie. The community have been calling for more things for our kids to do,”

Quotes attributable to Mayor of Port Stephens, Leah Anderson:
